Woo Hoo!! A Finish for Me!!

I've been stitching, stitching, stitching - and really loving it most of the time. Last week was a little trying for me - wondered if I bit off more than I can chew kind of thing. But, I was piecing and pressing backings for 3 quilts and when I ironed the backing for my Chocolate Covered Cherries, such a peace came over me. I call it my "JOYFUL FABRIC". (photo to come later) So, I have purposed to "enjoy" the process and let God take care of the results!

So...presenting Chocolate Covered Cherries:

Notice the little "wonky" flower on the red center of the star? (Might have to enlarge the photo) Well, that is what I chose for a quilting design. I call it "meandering wonky flowers". This was a quilt where I felt like I could practice my FMQ and still have a finished UFO! I'm very happy with the results. This is the very first "cover up" quilt I have ever made for myself. All other quilts were designed and made for some one else in mind. Hence, the pretty floral background! I've noticed I sure am drawn to large floral designs lately. I love all flowers in nature, so enjoy them on fabric, too!

Well, look at you go! I just love this quilt--and I love the name. Most of all, I love that it brought you peace in the process.
I can't believe how you have taken to FMQ on your own. You are amazing, Doniene. Your "Wonky Flowers" are a great finish to a lovely project!

Simply delightful; gorgeous job on it! I have made two lap quilts and have one on the wall(just can't get back to it) that are just for cold winter evenings. May your Chocolate Covered Cherries always bring you peace and warmth.
Hugs, Noreen

Beautiful! I don't always choose wonderful fabric for the back of my quilts, but I always appreciate it when it works out that way.:)

It looks really good! I'm not usually drawn to brown, but I think your quilt has turned out lovely. I noticed the windmill in your yard in the photos. They are a bit of an Australian icon too! So many farms have them, but not many are in use anymore.

Glad this one is for you - it's beautiful. I love large florals, too- actually, I'm partial to any size floral. I really like the red and brown combination. Don't see that much. Great job with the machine quilting. Sounds like you are getting a lot of practice.
I'm glad you found peace with this project. I think that is something many of us struggle with. I'm learning to let things just be. Take care.

I'm "sew" impressed. I'm scared to try to quilt like that, I haven't stepped out of the stipple stage yet ! I love the name you gave it, it fits! We missed you yesterday. I had the privelege of sitting across from Joy Ivy and she wanted to know where you were. I told her you were having more fun than all of us put togther with Gracen !
