Assistance Please!!!

Remember the Maple Star Blocks that I won in our guild drawing?  Well, I'm wanting to get them pieced into a flimsy. Want to use fabric from my stash, but not sure if what I have is what I like. So, need your opinion. I know pictures are always a true to color or dimension, but any input would be greatly appreciated!

I've been working on Christmas Sampler blocks. To date I have 47 blocks done, so only 17 more to go to get the number that I want. These are my latest finishes.

Blessings to Ya'll !!!!

Really, Doniene, any of these look fine. I think my favorite is the pieced alternate blocks with the light and dark brown fabrics.
Your Christmas sampler quilt will be lovely!

What a great group of blocks. I think I like the dark chain blocks best, myself. I would use the dark fabric for the setting triangles around the edges, too. Then I might put a narrow strip of the yellow around the whole thing and finish up with a dark border. Do you have enough of the brown, or a dark green might look good. I'd have to play with it, but that is what comes to mind.
How many Christmas quilts are you making? That is a lot of beautiful blocks!

Great Christmas blocks!!
I like the plain dark squares as the alternating blocks. I think that it really makes "star" blocks really pop.

Girlfriend, looks like you're having the same problem as I. ALrighty then.... I'd say the darker fabric because it makes your blocks really stand out. The lighter fabrics makes the blocks look like a soft victorian type quilt.

I like the dark pieced blocks with your blocks that you won. The others seem too light.

What a fun question to have - I lean towards the darker - I think it makes the blocks pop. You could use a variety of darks to piece the setting blocks if you needed to. You have a great project going!

Oooh, difficult to choose ... I like both settings, a lot. The darker certainly contrasts the blocks, but then again I do like the softness of the lighter .... so, I'm NO help! Either way, you can't go wrong.
