Frugal Quilt - What's your take for a Story?

I've been working on "Orphan" blocks - a term I just learned today from Becky at http://thecivilwarquilter.blogspot.com/ . It is my newest blog I follow and I'm totally fascinated by her presentation. I've pieced the following small quilt from some of my orphan blocks and wanted to open it up for stories!!! I call it my "Frugal Quilt". The second picture shows how the large triangle was "pieced" to make the "piece". In fact, 18 of the 25 small blocks (about 4") have been "pieced" this way. Also, the seams are a very scant quarter inch (more like an eighth!)

My story is: The faithful servant, saved the small scraps from the family's sewing and after the day's chores were completed, she pieced the blocks hoping to get enough for a quilt possibly for her baby or even a quilt for her to share with her future husband.

What's your story?

Blessings

As the prairie homemaker would cut down her own meager wardrobe to make clothing for her growing children she would save the best scraps that were leftover, hoping to somehow create another bedcover to protect against the next winter's biting cold winds. How was she ever going to back it?

Thanks for stopping by my corner of the world. Your quilt and story to go along with it is wonderful.

I used to have playlist for my music but then it didn't work because of some kind of restrictions on this side of the world. :/ Now I use flashwidgetz.com -- you have to create an account and then add it as a gadget but it's pretty simple.

Have a great weekend! Best wishes, Tammy

This little quilt is wonderful. Reminds me of one of my grandma's quilts. She used scraps from flour sacks and whatever else she could get her hands on. I think my habits comes from her.
BTW, I look your photos of your great-grand and grandmother!
