Brand Quilt

I've been busy on the crazy quilt - some times I feel a little "crazy" lol!! Not quite done attaching the 'blocks' with feather stitching, but getting closer. Hope to be done in a few days, and then have it tied and bound by the middle of August (self-imposed deadline).

I was going through pictures the other day and found this one (taken 11 years ago) of the quilt I made for Mike. I love stars and the brand he inherited from his grandfather was the "star" brand. So I designed this quilt of sampler stars and the alternate blocks are our families brands. This is our summer quilt and it now pretty faded and worn, but we still love it. I made a billion mistakes on this quilt, but I don't tell anyone!! lol

Blessings!

That is a beautiful quilt. If you made any mistakes, I'm sure no one would notice. Besides, I figure anything handmade does NOT have to be perfect. It has special meaning and serves a purpose and that's all that really matters

I do love making a whirlwind tour of the world via the blogosphere! Have a terrific rest of the day. :) Tammy

Hi Doniene,
Knitting socks is easy once you get the hang of it. I like the Toe Up Two at A Time method...a book by Melissa Morgan-Oakes. I am by no means an expert, but my feet are warm in the wintertime. lol

it would be no different than learning how to trail Border Collies...just gotta learn to do it. One of my dau.'s goals.

How did I miss this post initially? I was scrolling back through some older posts looking for something and thought this didn't look familiar. Where was I?
Anyway--I think this is a very clever idea for a quilt. Unfortunately, our family brand is a number 7--not a very good quilting design. Seems my husband's great-grandfather had seven sons. Love the family history photos along your sidebar!
