Flag Day and the Winners!!!

I thought it would be appropriate to announce the winners of my Patriotic Giveaway on Flag Day!!! Thanks to each and everyone of  you for participating and leaving such encouraging comments!

So I corralled the resident cowboy and his trusty black hat!!

And he drew the winners...

Congratulations!! I'll be contacting you to get your mailing information.

I first saw a quilt that Dawn was making from the book "Promenade in a Dutch Garden". She has made hers from vintage Dutch fabrics and it is just lovely! Well, I didn't have Dutch Fabrics, but I did have a charm pack of French General Panier De Fluer, and some coordinating yardage. I down sized the blocks and voila here is my version!! I opted to not use a border, as I didn't have anything in my stash that I liked. I do have some blue that I'm going to use for binding that should frame it nicely. But...how would you quilt it? I don't want to take away from the fabric or the piecing. I'm thinking about just diagonal in the ditch, but...really would like some feedback!

Congratulations to the winners.

I think diagonal stitching in the ditch would look great on your new quilt.

I just finished the binding on a small quilt that was quilted with diagonal stitching. Sometimes that is just what a quilt needs. Your little version of this quilt is beautiful, Doniene, and I think your plan for quilting is a good one.
I am thrilled to have been drawn from the hat for one of your wonderful patriotic minis!! Thanks SO much!! : )

Well, if I couldn't have won, I was glad to see Mom's name there :)

Congratulations to the winners!!! Your newest small quilt is really cute, and I think quilting in the ditch would work great. The prints are so busy that intricate quilting probably wouldn't show up enough to warrant the work involved.

I think it might be cool to quilt a Baptist fan over the entire quilt - Janet did that awhile ago on one of hers and I really liked it! Look forward to seeing what you decide. Congrats to the lucky winners of your generous giveaway!
