Fabulous Fifteenth Fabric Freebie!!

Wow, another month gone by! The time sure does fly when you are having fun - or busy - or getting older...

Time for my monthly fabric giveaway. This month's fabric is kind of a hodge podge - ~2 fat eighths of large black & white check, ~2 fat eighths of small black & white plaid, 1/4 yard cut of turquoise & brown flower/paisley, and a fat quarter of bright tonal orange. So approximately a yard of fabric!

In addition, you will receive these:

Which are six chances to win this:

This is our guild raffle quilt for the annual quilt show being held in April. I think it is beautiful!!

Now for the important stuff: if you want a chance to win the fabric and the raffle tickets, just leave a comment on this post and tell me two things:

1. What is your favorite batting and why?

2. What is your favorite quilting magazine? Do you subscribe or just buy on the news stand?

Blessings to Ya'll!!

Oh, this is a tough one for me, but the orange fabric and the raffle tickets are worth the effort!
I am not well-versed on battings, I'm afraid. I know my LQS recommends Hobbs, but I haven't tried it. I have bought my battings on sale or with a coupon at JoAnn. If I am hand-quilting I still prefer a thin poly batt. Otherwise I have used cotton and cotton/poly blend, but the brand escapes me. Recently I used a bamboo and I loved the drape, but it has a heavy feel to me.
I don't subscribe to any quilt magazines. American Patchwork and Quilting is the one I think I have purchased the most, but I still try not to buy them often. They are fun to look through but I seldom end up actually making the quilts.
Sorry for the novelette size response! : )

I like Warm & Natural batting. I don't subscribe to any quilt magazines, but the last one I bought was Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting. Thanks for the giveaway!

If I was a quilter, I would be the first to enter, and pray real hard to win!~smile~ good luck to those who enter and to those who do such beautiful work with their hands!
One day I hope to come by and say, "Doniene I am learning to quilt," my daughter tells me that she is going to learn this year, so maybe she will teach me, ~smile~

Hugs,
Sue
p.s. I have my headphones on and am enjoying your music!!beautiful!!

Oh my, but those fabrics are beautiful! And that raffle quilt is stunning! Wow!

So, for batting, I have always used Mountain Mist Blue Ribbon Cotton.....I love that it's very thin, and will crinkle up the quilt and give it that antiquey look after washing! Love that!

And I haven't purchased a mag in years. The girls from my quilt group bring theirs to share when their done with them, and I find that Quilter's Newsletter Magazine is what I'm drawn to each time!

Thanks for the chance at this great giveaway! And the great music, too! I LOVE Susan Boyle!

Thanks for the chance to win, Doniene!
For the past several years I've used Quilters Dream Cotton for both machine and hand quilting. I recently tried Quilters Dream Wool for hand quilting and LOVE it. It doesn't have as nice a drape as cotton, but it is easy to quilt through and is so warm.
I subscribe to American Patchwork and Quilting and McCalls Quilting. My new favorite quilt magazine is Quiltmania. It is hard to find, but usually I can get it at Barnes and Noble. The only way to subscribe to it is through Amazon.

I'm a quilt magazine junkie! I have every issue of American Patchwork and Quilting since August of 1996, and a few others over the years. However, my all time favorite I buy over the newstand is AP&Q Quilt Sampler. It is the one where they tour quilt shops across the country and each shop submits a pattern. I live in the boonies and don't travel much, maybe that's why I like it. My SIL is a longarm quilter and quilts my few quilts that I actually get finished. She buys batting in bulk and always makes a good choice. Your raffle quilt is beautiful! I would love a chance to win.

My favorite batting is the cheapest and whatever is on sale. I don't quilt that much, so I haven't found something I just love.
No quilting magazines. I just look at Pinterest to get different ideas!
